Estate
Location
Bastion's Reach, Adern
Governing Authority
Voss family
Current Status
Occupied and maintained, with increased security presence
Narrative Relevance
The Voss Estate is closely tied to key developments following the revelation of Luka’s origins. After the truth was uncovered, the estate became the primary location of his relocation and care, operating under heightened oversight. Events and relationships formed within the household contributed significantly to Luka’s subsequent development and the shifting dynamics surrounding him.
✦Addendum - Interviews with the household staff maintain that Luka is quite content. Once the truth was revealed to the public, they maintained a wall of silence surrounding information. I find their trust in their employers and their personal experiences with the boy to have contributed to this choice.
Location & Setting
Bastion's Reach
A larger estate within the city. The grounds include high surrounding walls, formal gardens, training yards, and multiple residential and administrative structures. The estate is divided into two primary wings, one of which has been allocated for extended use by the Second Knight Order. This wing currently houses additional personnel and facilities designated for the care of a new ward under Lady Amelia Voss’s supervision.
Ownership & Stewardship
Garrick and Amelia Voss remain the owners of the estate. Stewardship lies mainly under the purview of Amelia Voss and their trusted butler, Gregor.
Function & Purpose
A family home originally, it adapted to accommodate Luka’s long-term care and residence
Architectural Character
The Voss Estate is designed to balance privacy, security, and functional adaptability. Its layout allows for the separation of household, administrative, and training spaces without disrupting daily operations.
✦Addendum - Their security is no jest. Archmage Veylan Caelan himself oversaw the installment of their magic barriers - truly a wise decision given Luka's unimaginable chaotic power.
Household & Retinue
The Voss Estate is supported by a permanent household staff, led by its butler, Gregor, and including maids, manservants, cooks, and gardeners. The staff oversee daily operations and maintenance, ensuring continuity of household function during periods of change.
Appointments within the Voss Estate are widely regarded as desirable positions of service. Selection standards are strict, and conduct expectations are clearly enforced.
Historical Overview
The Voss Estate is a relatively recent holding, granted by King Fenric to Garrick Voss to ensure his continued presence near the capital. Following its acquisition, the household was divided between the estate and the family’s lands in the High Reaches, with stewardship of the latter entrusted to Jorin Voss. Amelia Voss oversaw the establishment of the estate as a functioning household, transferring staff, furnishings, and family effects from the High Reaches.
Atmosphere & Character
The Voss Estate is widely regarded as orderly, welcoming, and well-kept. Household life is structured but humane, shaped by consistent leadership and respect for both staff and residents. The estate’s reputation reflects Lady Amelia Voss’s approach to stewardship, which emphasizes dignity, stability, and personal regard. As a result, the household is known for loyalty among its staff and a general atmosphere of calm despite recent changes in security and occupancy.

Classification
Tower Holding
Location
Bastion's Reach, Adern
Governing Authority
High Commander Garrick Voss,
Interim Knight Commander Josiah Lyndon
Current Status
Occupied and maintained, repurposed
Narrative Relevance
Publicly, the records indicated the tower was no more than that used for defense and long-term planning in regards to the Adernian-Savidorian conflict. Interviews with said order have revealed that the Second Order Tower was actually gifted to the knight order for the containment of the Monster of Savidor. Originally an old watchtower on the high cliffs, Garrick transformed and repurposed it into a secure holding sight, complete with reinforced lower levels, defensive ward network, and a not insignificant armory. Later, it became what the public believed it was.
Location & Setting
Bastion's Reach
An old watchtower that rises from the cliffs at the city's western edge, once used to monitor approaching threats and guard the castle behind it. As Bastion's Reach expanded, the tower feel into quiet disuse until Garrick repurposed it.
Ownership & Stewardship
The Second Knight Order
An elite order of knights sworn to King Fenric and bound by strict oaths of loyalty.
Function & Purpose
Original purpose was containment and interrogation. The lower level containment cells and strong defensive wards, now turned outward, remain of this original purpose. Once Luka's truth was discovered, an immediate decision was made to turn the Second Knight Order Tower into their official base and training grounds for their new blood recruits.
Architectural Character
The design and architectural plans for the watchtower are kept sealed. Access to restricted files are required.
Retinue
The Second Order Tower contains the following personnel: knights of various rankings, healers both senior and in training, clerks and other officials, cooking staff, and on occasion the high commander himself.
Historical Overview
The Tower is old, part of the old framework of Bastion's Reach. It served as a watchtower, a last resort during highly uncertain times. As Bastion's Reach expanded to the outer cliffs in response to a growing population, the watchtower fell into disuse.
✦Addendum - The knights of the Second Tower swear the tower itself is haunted. Further investigations to follow.
Atmosphere & Character
The Tower is utilitarian in appearance and structure, yet its walls contain a close knit unit of individuals. Familial bonds, born of wartime necessity, are not withheld from the new recruits. Visits to and from the tower to conduct interviews have always been met with welcome.
