Current Status
Active / War-torn / Partial Occupation
Narrative Relevance
In the current era, Adern faces war with Savidor. It has raged on nigh three years now, resulting in mass loss of life and significant loss of land. The partial occupation rendered many skeptical of victory. Many contribute the work of several competent leaders with Adern's survival up until now, but hope remained woefully out of reach until the reported capture and execution of the Monster of Savidor. Such news made citizens hope for true victory. The subsequent revelation of Luka's continued existence, however, has strained public sentiments. Many still argue his continued existence is an affront to the fallen, while others dispute this sentiment and cite Luka's youth and victimization. So far, the royal court refuses to comment on their decisions.

Cultural Overview
Adernian society places high value on family, loyalty, and strength of honor. Communities are often tight-knit. Seasonal changes and nationwide remembrance days, such as the Summer Solstice or the Day of Dissolution, are celebrated with great focus on family and culture. The nation is predominantly human, with other races historically uncommon due to prior isolationist policies and limited environmental incentives for settlement. These days, more and more are seeking national identity within Adern. Trust must often be cultivated between native Adernians and outsiders.
Historical Overview
Adern was originally founded 640 years ago during a time of great upheaval across the continent. The original royal family died out around the fourth generation and the remaining court officials determined that an elective council would be formed consisting of trusted officials and court officials who would decide on the next ruling monarch. Adern rose to prominence through extensive mineral extraction and trade, supported by rich mines and established continental routes. During the Seven Year Demon War, Adern fortified its borders and raised standing military forces in response to demon incursions and widespread regional instability, including opportunistic territorial encroachments. In the decades following the war, Adern retained its expanded military infrastructure as border disputes and external pressures continued.
Economic Activity
Popular trade products include craftwork of silver and fine jewels. Blacksmiths and metalworkers are highly praised and highly desired for their ability to turn the fruits of the earth into beautiful pieces of art. Other high-traffic trade comes from salt and agricultural exports drawn from the nation’s fertile lowlands, including preserved grains, pressed oils, and honeyed goods—commodities that are hardy and reliable.
Geographic Overview
Adern is mostly desert highlands and desert steppes with open grasslands, rocky plateaus, and high valleys. Rainfall is low overall, but collects in low fertile valleys where many have taken to cultivating hardy crops and keeping bees for honey. What is not fertile is often rich with valuable minerals and metals.
Atmosphere & Character
Typically, Adernians are seen as hardy and vibrant people. They make the most of things, especially in such harsh conditions. Only recently, have they been welcoming of outsiders thanks to their current monarch's policies. Outsiders often note that while Adernians are quick to offer help, they are slower to offer familiarity. Public optimism is common, though conversations often return to the war, even when no one is invited to speak of it. Murmurs of discontent can be traced back to fear of the war's outcome.

Governing Authority
Savidorian Royal Family
Current Status
Active / Militarized
Narrative Relevance
Recent activities within its borders are largely worrying. Defense has become offense with sights turned towards Adern's resources. As the recent droughts in Savidor and Nenwhir persist, Savidor claims its people are in need of richer farmland and have pursued the war as a means to provide for its people once negotiations of trade fell through. It vehemently denies any knowledge in how the mage Varos created his monster, claiming publicly that mistakes were made in his ascension to power. They acknowledge the pain and suffering Luka has undergone and are not seeking any further claims to his personhood at this time. No family has come forward, either.

Cultural Overview
Savidorian culture is lively and flamboyant. Both craft work and strength are honored highly among the people - strength of honor and strength of character especially are highly valued. Because of little farmland and rich iron and steel deposits, metal and leather work have become the backbone of the kingdom. Apprenticeships with masters of these crafts are highly prized. Yearly competitions are held among the youth to present on the best and have become something of a festival every winter solstice. It's military extensively trains individuals within their ranks and many sons make their parents proud here. Many races exist within their borders, dwarves making up more than a third of the population.
Historical Overview
Savidor has an old and rich history, dating back to the founding of the larger nations and theoretically to what the Creationist Church refers to as the Sundering. Savidor developed as a densely populated and industrious kingdom, with early growth driven by extensive iron and steel deposits and the expansion of large-scale metallurgy and leatherworking. In the decades preceding the current conflict, Savidor experienced sustained internal growth marked by population expansion, advancements in applied artificing, and the strengthening of border defenses and infrastructure. In the years leading up to the Savidor–Adern conflict, prolonged droughts and increasing resource strain heightened pressures on land and production, contributing to rising regional tensions.
✦Addendum - Records from that far back remain scarce. Even the Archives records don't go back that far, or perhaps it remains lost in the twisting halls of this place. My master certainly never taught me where they are, if they exist. Perhaps he forgot to tell me. More likely, he forgot where they are.
Economic Activity
Savidor’s economy is centered on metal and leatherwork, supported by abundant iron and steel deposits. Savidorian arms, armor, and crafted goods are widely traded, and apprenticeships with master craftsmen are highly sought after. Limited farmland restricts agricultural production, making the kingdom heavily reliant on trade, resource control, and military investment to sustain its dense population.
Geographic Overview
Savidor is largely arid, with sparse fertile land and wide stretches of dry plains and rocky terrain. While small agricultural regions exist, they are insufficient to meet the needs of the population. In contrast, the land is rich in iron and steel deposits, shaping settlement, industry, and the kingdom’s long-standing focus on manufacturing and military strength.
Atmosphere & Character
Savidorian culture is bold and expressive, valuing strength, craftsmanship, and honor in equal measure. Skill in metalwork and martial ability are both widely celebrated, particularly among the youth. Military service is a respected path, and public competitions and festivals reinforce ideals of discipline, excellence, and national pride. Under King Roderic, these values have increasingly turned outward, reflecting a growing emphasis on expansion and resource acquisition.
