King Fenric’s involvement in the events surrounding the Monster of Savidor might reasonably have remained limited to royal authorization. When High Commander Voss proposed study rather than execution, Fenric’s approval was sufficient to proceed. Instead, the king chose continued engagement, requesting regular updates and facilitating the resources necessary to sustain the effort. This ongoing oversight placed him among those present when the true nature of the situation was ultimately revealed.
In the aftermath, and amid considerable public outrage, Fenric publicly affirmed his decision to protect Luka under royal authority, framing the matter as one of responsibility and oversight rather than punishment. While initial records indicate his concern lay primarily with the safety of his people, Fenric’s stance did not waver as public scrutiny intensified. His position has since remained consistent, signaling a deliberate commitment to Luka’s preservation despite widespread opposition.

Veylan Caelan stands as Adern’s foremost authority in all recognized magical disciplines and was elevated to the title of Archmage at an unusually young age, owing to a degree of power and control seldom recorded. Given such influence, his involvement in the matter of the Monster of Savidor was inevitable. Alongside Garrick Voss, Master Caelan is widely credited as one of the principal reasons Adern itself was not overrun quickly during the Adernian-Savidorian conflict. His persistent curiosity—particularly regarding chaos magic—led him to support the proposal to study the Monster rather than execute it.
Following the revelation of Luka’s true origins, Master Caelan’s position became markedly more restrained. Personal interviews revealed guilt and a heightened sense of responsibility, as his prior involvement in certain political matters had, in part, contributed to the conditions that allowed the Monster’s creation. His initial recommendation was termination, framed as an act of mercy rather than punishment. Though Fenric and Garrick ultimately persuaded him to abandon this course, his reservations did not fully abate. Nevertheless, Master Caelan accepted the role of instructor and researcher, a decision that appears to have been made primarily for Luka’s benefit. Elias Varne has a deceptively small role in the narrative. Though he never had direct interactions with Luka, Varne's involvement was important. According to his reports, Varne was unable to find much in the way of actual origins for Luka, but he did manage to narrow it to some far remote provinces in Savidor where orphans had disappeared about 7 years prior to the present era.
Varne became Garrick's greatest asset during the war. Research indicates that his field reports were essential to Garrick's ability to maintain control from a distance. Thanks to long-distance communication via crystal, Varne and Garrick were able to keep in constant contact to plan the strategies that kept Savidor at bay after the ceasefire broke.

Josiah Lyndon remains an unsung figure within the broader narrative, his involvement arriving relatively late. Records indicate that his role began only after a critical miscalculation revealed the Second Knight Order’s need for immediate reinforcement, at which point Lyndon volunteered to answer that need. In a later personal interview, he stated that he considered himself fortunate not to have known the Monster for long prior to the revelation of his age, expressing doubt that he could have reconciled the actions demanded of Garrick and the Second Knight Order had that knowledge come earlier, citing similarities to his own niece.
Lyndon currently serves as interim captain of the Second Knight Order. Contemporary assessments credit his leadership with stabilizing the Order and addressing its structural weaknesses following the resulting strain. Garrick has stated that, without Lyndon’s assistance, the Second Order may not have recovered.
