Varos
Age
43
Race

Mage
Kingdom Affliation
Savidor
Known Titles/Ranks
Mage of the Court of Savidor
Physical Assessment
Average height, piercing gaze that seems to take people apart piece by piece, youthful features, quite beautiful.
Temperament
Vain ⨳ Lacking empathetic emotion ⨳ Cunning ⨳ Calculating ⨳ Analytical but reckless
Narrative Significance
Varos, originally of Adern, is recorded only by his surname; his given name is absent from all official records. He studied under Mage Veylan at the Academy, and though much about his early career remains unclear, he was implicated in an incident involving illicit human experimentation—a case that continues to trouble both Fenric and Veylan. Officially, responsibility was attributed to a minor baron named Brennan, but surviving records suggest a connection between Brennan and Varos. Banished for crimes against the living, Varos subsequently sought refuge with King Roderic of Savidor, under whose rule his activities continued. Details regarding his role in the creation of the Monster of Savidor remain largely lost, as key records were destroyed during the war.
Attempts to interview Varos proved impossible; by the time of this record’s compilation, his whereabouts were unknown and he left behind little direct testimony. Surviving reports describe him as secretive and obsessed with forbidden magical research, particularly that of Mage Sirus. The full extent of his actions remains a matter of speculation, with much left to conjecture in the absence of conclusive evidence.

Daniel Wallace
Age
45
Race
Human
Kingdom Affliation
Savidor
Known Titles/Ranks
Lord of the Noble House Jorgund
Physical Assessment
Pale blonde hair graying early, light colored eyes, and a stooped posture from many months crouched over a desk.
Temperament
Nervous energy ⨳ Calculating ⨳ Heartless ⨳ Cowardly ⨳ Weasel
Narrative Significance
Wallace of House Jorgund served as Savidor’s chief strategist, a position he held more by necessity than choice. He was dispatched by King Roderic to negotiate and sign the ceasefire with Garrick Voss, and was required to remain until the matter of the Monster of Savidor was resolved. Wallace worked closely with Mage Varos, though multiple reports from knights and soldiers note that their partnership was marked by frequent conflict, largely attributed to Varos’s disregard for discipline and decorum. It is noted in surviving records that Wallace was aware of Varos’s experimentation on orphans and showed little concern. Contemporary accounts consistently describe Wallace as clever, adaptable, and notably difficult to pin down—traits that earned him both respect and suspicion among his peers.

King Roderic
Age
38
Race
Human
Kingdom Affliation
Savidor
Known Titles/Ranks
King
Physical Assessment
Golden hair, dark eyes (rumors of mixed lineage are not tolerated). Impeccably groomed, with a predatory gaze that weighs others as if they are already dead.
Temperament
Calculating ⨳ Controlled ⨳ Ruthless ⨳ Predatory Presence ⨳ Inspires Fear ⨳ Greedy
Narrative Significance
King Roderic of Savidor’s presence, though seldom direct, is a constant force shaping the course of the conflict with Adern. Known for his calculating nature and ruthless standards, Roderic holds his subordinates—particularly Wallace and Varos—to impossible expectations. His insistence on results and his willingness to use any means necessary to achieve his goals have instilled fear and obedience in his court. Roderic’s demand for the recovery of the Monster of Savidor and his ongoing scrutiny of Wallace’s and Varos’s efforts have prolonged the tension and intrigue at the heart of the ceasefire. Even when not physically present, Roderic’s authority and threats linger over every negotiation, decision, and betrayal within Savidor’s upper ranks. His capacity to unnerve and dominate, paired with a perfectionist’s eye for failure, marks him as a driving force behind much of the ongoing unrest.
