Narrative Significance
Sergeant Bran Halek appears in all reports concerning the Monster of Savidor, though his role is mostly as a quiet guardian—a task he reportedly does not mind. Much of what is known about Bran comes from the accounts of others, as he rarely offers details himself. He helped capture Luka on the battlefield, suffering minor injuries that kept him in the medical tent for three days before returning to duty at Bastion’s Reach. Initially, Bran’s health records suggested a tendency toward clumsiness, with frequent scrapes and minor injuries noted; when asked, Riven dismissed concerns with an amused smile. Despite this, Bran was personally chosen by Garrick Voss to help oversee Luka’s care, a responsibility not given lightly.

Records consistently note the positive impact of her involvement with Luka; her brash, competitive demeanor appears well-suited to his temperament, fostering engagement rather than resistance. Narrative Significance
Collin Byrick was never intended for service in the Second Order—or the army at all. Intake records note he claimed to be 16 at recruitment, though he was in fact only 14 at the time, a discrepancy uncovered a year later by Knight Sergeant Edain Glennan. Rather than report him, Glennan offered Collin a position as her squire; her own file records that she was found out within a month, but, after a small reprimand, was permitted to keep him in her service.
Collin’s eventual involvement with Luka arose through his connection to Edain, but, being close in age to both Luka and the twins, he was gradually pulled into their circle. Their interactions slowly became play rather than watchcare, and Collin's earnestness and care earned him that rare trust from Luka.
