New Series - Writing Prompts

Stories don’t always arrive fully formed. Sometimes they need a nudge. A question. A single sentence that refuses to let go.

Starting this week, I’m launching a weekly writing prompt series, posted every Sunday afternoon. Each prompt is meant to be a spark—something small enough to feel approachable, but open enough to let your imagination run wherever it wants to go.

You don’t need to be a professional writer. You don’t need credentials, confidence, or a five-book plan. If you feel the itch to create, you’re already qualified.

If a prompt speaks to you, take it. Twist it. Break it open. Then, if you’re comfortable, share what you made in the comments. I’d love to see how many different stories can grow from the same seed.

Rules

  • Rules & Guidelines

    • Keep It SFW

Strong language is allowed, and darker themes may be explored. Please avoid explicit sexual content or overly graphic depictions of violence, especially when meant to shock or glorify harm. Sexual violence and extreme brutality should not be treated sensationally. When in doubt, imply rather than describe, and let the story do the work.

    • Respect the Community

Be kind, constructive, and considerate when engaging with others. Disagreement is fine; disrespect is not.

    • Credit Your Work

Please share only writing you have created yourself. If your piece involves collaboration, inspiration from another creator, or previously published work, be sure to credit appropriately.

    • Links Are Welcome

Feel free to share links to external posts or resources related to your response, as long as they follow the same guidelines. Self-promotion is welcome when relevant to the prompt, but please avoid excessive or unrelated promotion. Links should lead directly to the story or writing being shared (not a general homepage), and must be publicly accessible without requiring sign-in or special permissions. Spam or unsafe links may be removed.

Any comments or links that contain or link to overly graphic material may be removed at the site owner’s discretion. The goal is to create a safe space for writers.

These weekly prompts are meant to keep creativity moving, even on weeks when writing feels hard. They’re also a chance to connect—reading different interpretations, sharing feedback, and discovering new tools or voices along the way.

If you're interested in joining the writing prompts group, feel free to click this link. First writing prompt is already live! EDIT: It is completely free to join the group.
